Woodland

Some would call the South East our natural power station, because we are living in the most wooded area of the UK

Using woodlands local to you

Wood4Heat cuts timber in the woodland near to the boiler we are supplying.  Once the timber has dried (about 1 year) we will chip it and deliver it to the site of the boiler.  This encourages small woods to become managed and the timber produced to be put to an economically viable industry.

This means that we have an advantage over other areas because we all have woodlands near to us, which means we only have a short distance to move our fuel – Compare the distance your oil travels, to the distance of your local woods.  That is truly ‘buying local’ fuel.

Ancient Woodlands

Ancient woodlands are valuable for wildlife and native woodland plants and they need to be managed properly to protect them.  If you look beside the road as you drive through the South East you will notice lots of neglected woodland – biomass is a huge opportunity for us to start managing and caring for this special habitat
